Member Advisory Committee
The Member Advisory Committee (MAC) is comprised of plan members, consumer advocates, and representatives from other community organizations who meet quarterly to help FHP ensure close attention to and clear understanding of the Medicaid population's needs. Additional representatives from advocacy, social services, community organizations, and provider groups make the Member Advisory Committee a dynamic and rich source of information and it represents a special opportunity for the exchange of ideas.
The FHP Member Advisory Committee meets quarterly. The following is a listing of activities and accomplishments of the Committee:
- Ongoing review of the Member's Rights Statement;
- Ongoing review of the FHP Member Handbook;
- Ongoing review of the Grievances process;
- Participated in the development and ongoing review of Customer Satisfaction Survey;
- Development of "On the Road to Recovery" Tip Sheet series;
- Created FHP Member Newsletter;
- Developed Diagnosis Based Treatment Guidelines for Consumers and Families for Schizophrenia, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD;
- Ongoing development of new member materials
- Assist in the Planning and Development of FHP's Annual May is Mental Health Month and October Recovery events
- Review of FHP's Primary Care Physician initiative
The Member Advisory Committee provides valued insight and recommendations into FHP's Quality Improvement Process.
