FHP has designed a Prevention, Education and Outreach program to provide our members with the tools to improve and maintain an optimal quality of life.

  1. Prevention: Gives members the opportunity to maintain their current wellness and improve their quality of life before a mental illness limits or decreases it. Examples of prevention activities include: preventive behavioral health programs, preventive counseling, educational materials, life skills classes, drop in centers, and support groups.
  2. Education: Provides the means for members to gain knowledge and understanding of the available resources to maintain and improve wellness. Examples of education activities include: programs which provide information about benefits, targeted behavioral health education for recipients and/or family members, training, technical assistance, and other information designed to increase general behavioral health awareness.
  3. Outreach: Provides the opportunity for Florida Health Partners, Inc. to interact with members through forums, newsletters, educational materials, training and empowerment events, or community meetings. These activities are primarily educational in nature but can also involve solicitation of community participation by consumers, potential consumers, family members, and stakeholders in a program's design or operation. Outreach initiatives may be targeted to general or specific audiences, such as high-risk populations. They may take place in specific communities or at sites that are frequented by consumers such as social service agencies, schools, community centers, or health fairs.
