History

Providence Service Corporation is the parent company for Camelot Community Care and was formed in January of 1997 in response to the increasing governmental initiatives to privatize human services. Providence was quickly labeled the "Human Services Company Without Walls" due to the fact that the company does not own or operate any type of institution. Providence specializes in providing direct services and case management to children, adolescents and young adults with behavioral health needs and those supervised by government subsidized programs.

A number of states, counties, cities and federal programs have turned to the private sector for help in managing the ever-increasing number of clients benefiting from government subsidized programs. Privatized human services include child welfare systems, welfare to work programs, Medicaid client supervision, in-home counseling, probation and parole, substance abuse treatment, juvenile justice, child protective services and alternative education.

Providence offers its services across lines. Most private providers work exclusively with juvenile justice or mental health or children's services. Providence has designed its programs to be multi-jurisdictional; capable of serving numerous clients under government funded programs.

Mission
